Description

A new role as an Account Director for an integrated marketing agency based in Guilford, Surrey has become available. You will be on a salary of £55-65,000 with an immediate start.

My client is a growing online and offline agency, specialising in financial services.
They work with leading sector brands, in a small, friendly team based in Surrey, within easy commuting distance of London.
As a growing business, they are looking for an Account Director with the drive and ambition to become the best in their field, who enjoy operating with a high level of independence and responsibility.

Overall Purpose of Role

The Account Director's key role is to work with the Partners of the business and Clients to execute the strategic marketing plan of each account, identifying and progressing strategic development and new business opportunities with existing clients as well as contributing to the development of new business outside the existing client base. They will be responsible for managing, growing and leading the team to ensure that consistently great work is delivered to the client at all times.

Key tasks and responsibilities

Understanding The Client's Business

Demonstrate a strategic understanding of each Client's existing business and marketing plans and have a good comprehension of the dynamics of the marketplace in which they operate.

Engage with the client in a continuous dialogue about the progress of their business in relation to their strategies and plans and how to help accelerate progress.
Liaises and plan with clients over 6 month planning period.

Exhibit an ability to create inspirational and cohesive solutions for the clients business.


Commercial Skills and Business Development

To maintain responsibility and accountability for the financial health of the client's business from both an agency and client perspective – detailed up to date knowledge on the financial situation with each piece of business.

To produce quarterly budget forecasts which are reviewed and monitored on a monthly basis. Identify gaps and suggest ways of filling gaps to hit or exceed targets.

Work closely with New Business to maximise all relevant opportunities and where appropriate play an integral role on new business pitches.

Maximise commercial opportunities for existing and potential accounts. Look to develop existing client business and cross sell skills that are available within the agency.

Strategic Development

Proactively add to the strategic direction of the account – taking day-to-day ownership and moving strategy forward to continually add value to the business.

To be able to interpret client briefs showing the ability to grasp both execution and strategic issues which will highlight all implications of the brief. Works with Planners to develop briefs.

Proactively input into strategic discussions on a day-to-day basis, whilst exhibiting an ability to create inspirational and cohesive solutions for the clients business.
· Develop preliminary marketing strategies for clients.
· Provide written documentation, development and implementation of strategic marketing plans.

Creative Development

· Work with team and Creative Partner to deliver consistently top level creative work – demonstrate an appreciation of the sensitivities of dealing with creative’s and creative work.
· Ensure the effective interrogation of the brief (client and creative) takes place where all parties understand its implications, whilst providing internal counsel and optimal strategies for debating any controversial/challenging aspects of the brief.


Desired qualifications

• BA degree or equivalent experience
• 5-10 years of directly-related experience – preferably online and offline
• Experience within Financial Services sector client or agency side is a must
• Willingness and ability to travel
